EPAL assumes responsibility for the pallet pool’s safety and quality
Criticism of quality assurance at UIC/EUR pallets is growing – exchangeability is increasingly questioned
In response to repeated requests from EPAL, the issue of quality assurance of UIC/EUR pallets and their exchangeability in the open exchange pool was again on the agenda for the UIC Working Group “Questions of palletisation” on 09/11/2016 in Vienna.

Strengthening the open exchange pool means quality and cost efficiency
The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) views the introduction, by Dachser Food Logistics, of additional fees for exchanging Euro pallets as justified by the insufficient quality assurance of UIC pallets and the UIC’s lack of trademark rights prosecution.

”World” pallets not exchangeable in the Euro pallet pool
Trade fair news from FachPack in Nuremberg causes confusion in the pallet market. The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) recommends all users of Euro pallets to not exchange EPAL Euro pallets for “World” Euro pallets.

Sziget Festival in Hungary: EPAL as partner of one of the world’s biggest pop events
The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) sponsors one of the biggest and most well-known music festivals in the world: the Sziget Festival in Budapest. The music, art and culture festival, taking place from 10th to 17th August 2016, expects more than 500,000 visitors.

Robert Holliger confirmed as EPAL President for a further three years
On 1st July 2016 the General Assembly of the European Pallet Association e.V (EPAL) elected Robert Holliger President of EPAL for a further three years. EPAL’s successful work and the continuing expansion of the largest open pallet pool will continue with the re-election of Robert Holliger.

Several truckloads of counterfeit EPAL Pallets discovered in Belgium
At the end of May in Belgium, several truckloads of counterfeit EPAL Euro pallets were discovered and seized. This successful action took place in close cooperation between the European Pallet Association (EPAL) and the independent inspection company, Bureau Veritas.

Excellent results in Q1 2016. The upward trend of EPAL pallets continues
After the excellent annual result in 2015 with an increase of 10.9% and in total over 100m EPAL pallets, 73.6m of which were newly produced EPAL Euro pallets, the upward trend is continuing in the first quarter of 2016.
